I think that there are people playing, or there are people that want to play, but without a mIRC-like system it does not take a lot for such a niche game's MP to become a wasteland. I've tried searching a few times for an unranked game in the GoG version but to no avail. I want to also see the people online, maybe have a chat with them, make friends etc. I hope that T17 add in some kind of global lobby, though-I know that I'm repeating myself-as it would go a long way toward me wanting to spend more time in the game, even when I am not in an actual match.
However, I just can't say no to the new graphics, animation and sound design. It was made back in the day, when games were made first out of passion and second for profit, back when gaming wasn't a major industry. Armageddon has many cruicial community-building-and-maintaining features, plus the customizability that WMD would also need, so I can totally see why some still prefer W: A.
